The markup, exposed

The shelf price isn't their cost.
It's their margin.

Big supermarkets buy cheap and mark it up 15–25% before it reaches you. DailyHub buys at real volume and passes that price straight through. Here's what that looks like on the staples every family buys.

Typical supermarket
Chicken thigh fillet
$14.50
per kg
DailyHub · supplier price
Chicken thigh fillet
$11.00
per kg · exactly what we pay our supplier
A family buying 6kg a month saves $252 a year — on chicken alone.
Typical supermarket
3-ply premium toilet paper · 48 rolls × 300 sheets
$38.90
per 48-roll pack
DailyHub · supplier price
3-ply premium toilet paper · 48 rolls × 300 sheets
$29.70
per 48-roll pack · exactly what we pay our supplier
That’s $9.20 off a single pack — our supplier’s price, not the shelf price.

Cheaper than the warehouse clubs, too: a members-only club charges $32.99 for a similar 48-roll pack at just 270 sheets a roll. DailyHub is $29.70 for 300 sheets a roll — more paper, lower price, at our supplier’s cost.

Prices shown are indicative, for illustration only. Final prices are confirmed at launch.

Now put it all in one trolley.

A real shop — the staples a household actually buys — side by side. Same items, same brands, our supplier's price.

Backed by data

How much is the markup costing your family?

Slide to your weekly spend — we show the full math, not a vague percentage.

Your household spends about…
$200 / week
$80/wk$450/wk
Your groceries per year$10,400
Supermarket markup baked in (~15%, conservative)$1,560
DailyHub hands it back — at cost+$1,560
Annual membership−$149
You keep about$1,411
Your estimated saving
$1,411 /yr
≈ $118 back in your pocket each month

How we get this: Victorian households spend about $203 a week on groceries — around $274 for a family of four (Finder, 2026). Supermarket margins typically run 15–25%; we use a conservative 15% and give it back at cost. Pick free Click & Collect and the figure above is your full saving — home delivery adds a flat $5 per order, no minimum. Indicative only; your real saving depends on your basket.

Why you can trust it

Built by an operator who already does this.

DailyHub isn't a startup guessing at wholesale. It's built on a decade of real supplier relationships — the same buying power, pointed at your weekly shop.

  • Real wholesale, not a markup trick
Built on an existing wholesale supply business — genuine volume pricing, passed straight to you.
  • Transparent pricing, always
You see what we pay. The membership is our only margin on staples — never the products.
  • Local to Wollert
Made for this community first — the staples families here actually buy, delivered the same day.
  • No payment to join
The waitlist is free. Founding members simply lock in launch pricing and first access.

Families here are driving suburb to suburb just to save a few dollars on the weekly shop. The shelf price you pay isn't what it costs — it's the margin on top. We're removing the margin and giving you the cost. That's the whole idea.
